If using frozen edamame, boil a pot of salted water and cook the edamame for about 3-5 minutes or until tender. Drain and set aside. If using fresh, simply steam until vibrant green and tender.
In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic, and sauté for about 1-2 minutes, stirring frequently to prevent burning.
Stir in the red pepper flakes and continue cooking for another minute until the garlic is fragrant.
Add the cooked edamame to the skillet and toss to coat them evenly with the garlic-infused oil. Drizzle in the soy sauce and sesame oil, stirring to combine. Sauté for an additional 2-3 minutes until heated through.
Remove the skillet from heat and stir in the lemon juice. Taste and adjust with salt if needed.
Transfer the spicy garlic edamame to a serving bowl. Sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds and chopped cilantro for added flavor and a pop of color.
