Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x5-inch loaf pan with some cooking spray or butter.
In a large mixing bowl, combine the pumpkin puree, brown sugar, granulated sugar, and vegetable oil. Mix until smooth.
Beat in the eggs one at a time, ensuring each is fully incorporated before adding the next. Stir in the vanilla extract.
In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the pumpkin mixture, stirring gently until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
Fold in the chocolate chips and walnuts (if using).
Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and spread it evenly.
Bake for about 55-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Remove from the oven and let it cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
Slice the bread and serve with a dusting of powdered sugar on top. Consider adding a dollop of whipped cream or a scoop of vanilla ice cream on the side for an indulgent touch!
